The daughter of Walter Lee and Selma Bradley Allison and a native of Old Fort, North Carolina, Joyce moved to Virginia in 1961 with her then husband Carroll Dean Lytle, where she raised her family and later commenced a career with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Joyce rose to management at DMV and served as a branch manager, finally retiring in 2002. She was always very proud of her work and her family. Joyce also enjoyed returning to Carolina to visit family and friends, loved to read, listen to country music, watch Court TV, and cook chicken and dumplings for her children.

Joyce is survived by her children Brian Dean Lytle and his wife Brenda of York County, Virginia; Terri Lytle Ball and her husband Clayton of West Melbourne, Florida; and Alan Marshall Lytle and his wife Andrea of Herndon, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Anne Villaire. Joyce’s sisters, Faye Hayes of Pineola, North Carolina; Annie Lou Foster of Elkin, North Carolina; and, Nancy Robinson of Marion, North Carolina, survived her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers Walter “Duane” Allison and Alfred Eugene “Gene” Allison, both of Old Fort. Joyce was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Zachary, Xavier, Daniel, Nick, Ashley, Kaitlin, Drew, Lindsey, Dean, Adam, Cole, Nathan and Allie.

Family will gather at Allison Creek in Old Fort in the spring to honor and remember Joyce. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital (Hospice).
